Classroom and community libraries
The B.L.A.C.K. 2 LIFE BOOKZ N THE HOOD Classroom Library initiative will provide individual classroom libraries for schools in underserved neighborhoods.
How it Works
For every $25 donated, one set of 50 books will be purchased and placed in a different classroom in schools around the nation that have expressed the need for these resources. Help us make a lasting impact in the lives of students everywhere by providing the gift of reading to classrooms around the nation!
Support our classrooms by making a donation here:
*(Classroom Library placements will take place during the academic school year; usually occurring from August – June).
The B.L.A.C.K. 2 LIFE BOOKZ N THE HOOD Community Library project places small library boxes in underserved communities that are located in areas designated as book deserts, due to their extensive lack of access to books. These Community Libraries will allow children to have access to books at anytime day or night. Along with reading, these small library boxes will promote collective work and responsibility within the neighborhood to build and maintain the community.
How it Works
For every $500 gift, a Community Library will be placed in an underserved neighborhood of your choosing or one that has been identified by B.L.A.C.K. 2 LIFE.
With your purchase of a Community Library, you will be able to personalize your small library box with inspirational messages, colors, symbols, your name or the name of your organization.
Also, B.L.A.C.K. 2 LIFE will place 30 books ranging from picture books to chapter books and novels, in your small library box to be shared within the community (all messages, colors, symbols, and names will be children friendly and safe).
To help maintain the supply of books and the condition of the Community Library, B.L.A.C.K. 2 LIFE will assign one of our dedicated Ambassadors to partner with the community and share in this responsibility.
